An illustrious metal that’s quickly become the darling of industry, platinum along with palladium are both highly sought after precious metals in today’s economy. What makes platinum even more prized is its competitive pricing and how easily it can be bought and sold.

You’ll find our selection of platinum products below, and while it may not be a wide selection (owing to the relatively small size of the platinum product market compared to gold and silver), you can be sure that every coin, bar and round we offer is the highest quality platinum available. What is the best platinum to buy?

When it comes to buying platinum as an investment, you’ll want to focus on two things: quality and price. Quality is important because your platinum will need to be of a minimum 0.9995 (99.95%) purity to qualify for IRA ownership. Price is also important, of course, because as a smart investor you want to buy the best product for the lowest price possible.

At Birch Gold Group, we only work with the world’s best mints to sell platinum coins that are eligible for deposit in your precious metals IRA.

Is it worth it to buy platinum?

This isn’t investment advice, but as personal consumers, we do believe platinum is worth it – and while you may think that we’re biased (we are), you should make an objective consideration of platinum’s value. Here are a few points to think about: the automotive industry has been relying on Russian palladium for years, but with supply slowing, it will likely be pivoting to platinum as its alternative.  As demand for cars increases around the world, the demand for platinum will go up, too. Platinum is heavily used as a catalyst in chemical production processes, and as a conductor in many electrical applications. (Some analysts believe platinum is involved at some level in the production of 40% of all consumer goods!)

At the same time, the production of platinum has dwindled (as much of it comes from economically troubled South Africa). Right now, industries are working through a stockpiled inventory of platinum, but the stockpile won’t last forever – and when it’s gone, the price of platinum will react accordingly. Burglars are already cutting catalytic converters off parked cars for their platinum and palladium content…

Is platinum hard to sell?

One of the best features of platinum is, like all physical precious metals, it’s easy to sell. In fact, if you buy platinum through Birch Gold, we request the right of first refusal when you’re ready to liquidate. The main factor in being able to sell platinum easily is its quality, so be sure to buy high purity platinum from sovereign mints or reputable refiners to maximize its resale value.
