Birch Gold Group Editorial Policy and Standards

About the Birch Gold Group editorial standards

Our mission is to provide clear, accurate and timely education about the economy generally – and to explain how broad financial shifts affect the finances of everyday Americans.

We don’t just report numbers or repeat headlines. We interpret what the numbers mean, explain how financial shifts affect household budgets and savings and highlight risks that are often underreported in mainstream coverage. Because we specialize in physical precious metals, we often explore their historical role in diversification and as stores of value.

We are committed to the highest standards of accuracy and editorial independence. Every article is written with our readers’ best interests in mind. The principles below guide our work and ensure that our content remains accurate, balanced and grounded in verifiable sources. Our goal is to educate and inform. While we share insights on the economy and precious metals, your financial decisions are yours to make, and we do not provide investment advice.

Our principles

At Birch Gold Group, we believe education is the foundation of empowerment. Every article we publish is guided by the following principles:

  • Accuracy and accountability: We fact-check our content against primary and authoritative sources. If errors occur, we correct them transparently and promptly.
  • Transparency and independence: Our editorial decisions are made independently. Editorial team members do not receive compensation from advertisers or external partners. They focus solely on providing accurate educational content. When Birch Gold has paid partnerships or endorsements, we disclose them clearly and maintain editorial independence.
  • Clear sourcing and attribution: We cite primary and authoritative sources (e.g., government data, central bank reports, leading financial publications). We avoid unnamed sources; if they are used in rare cases, we explain why and provide as much context as possible. When we present original analysis or charts, we describe our methodology and link to data sources.
  • Educational and empowering: Our goal is to interpret complex economic events in plain language, so readers can see not just the headlines, but understand why they’re relevant and how they may affect their lives.
  • Ethical and empathetic: We hold ourselves to high ethical standards and write with empathy for our readers’ real-world concerns: rising costs, retirement security, and long-term financial stability.
  • Efficient and accessible: We aim to publish timely, relevant insights that readers can access easily and act on with confidence.

Content guidelines

The majority of our content comes from our in-house experts like Peter Reagan and Phillip Patrick, with occasional outside commentary.

  • Bylines and bios: Articles include author bylines and links to contributor bios summarizing relevant experience and credentials.
  • Reviews and updates: We monitor major economic developments and perform periodic content audits. Articles are revisited for clarity, freshness, and new data, and updated as needed.
  • Use of AI: Our articles are written for humans, by humans. We may use AI tools for research assistance, but never as a substitute for human judgment.
  • Tone: Our content is written in a clear, plainspoken, and empathetic style. We aim to make complex financial topics accessible without oversimplifying them. The tone is professional yet approachable, focused on education and interpretation.
  • Formatting and structure: We follow a consistent style guide to improve readability. Articles use headings and subheadings to break down information, and bullet points or numbered lists where appropriate. Key insights are placed prominently so readers can quickly understand the takeaway.
  • Visual assets: Images, videos, and graphics are selected to enhance understanding of the topic. All visual materials are high-resolution, relevant and properly sourced. We add descriptive alt text to ensure accessibility for all users.
  • Free speech and respectful debate: We are committed to creating an environment for the free and fair exchange of ideas. Our coverage avoids sensationalism and personal attacks. While we critique economic policies and systemic risks, we strive to avoid disparaging individuals or groups.
  • User-generated content:  When readers engage with us through comments, reviews, or other submissions, we moderate to ensure discussions remain respectful and relevant.
  • Endorsements and partnerships: We believe transparency makes us stronger. That’s why we disclose when compensation is provided — even when it may not be in our immediate interest to do so. Birch Gold Group sometimes features content or commentary from trusted commentators and professional associates. When compensation is involved, we disclose that relationship clearly in line with FTC guidelines. We also work with a network of partners who receive compensation when customers choose Birch Gold Group through their referral. None of these relationships influence our editorial standards or the accuracy of our content.

Contributor guidelines

Birch Gold Group does not accept unsolicited contributions.

  • Originality: All submissions must be original and not previously published elsewhere. We do not accept plagiarized or AI-generated material presented as original work.
  • Accuracy and sourcing: Contributors are expected to fact-check their work and cite authoritative sources for statistics, quotes and data. When possible, we encourage the use of primary sources such as government reports, central bank data and respected financial media publications.
  • Authorship and disclosure: All articles are published under their author’s name. External contributors are encouraged to disclose any financial, personal or professional conflicts of interest that could influence their work.
  • Editorial review: All contributions undergo review by Birch Gold Group’s editorial team to ensure clarity and compliance with our educational mission. Edits may include revisions for style, tone or structure – but we do not alter the substance of expert opinions. Many articles are reviewed and fact-checked by a subject-matter expert as well, indicated with a “Reviewed by” byline.
